IDSP Full Form

What Is The Full Form Of IDSP?

The full form of “IDSP” is “Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme.” IDSP is an important public health initiative in India aimed at strengthening disease surveillance and response activities. It was launched in 2004 by the Government of India to improve the monitoring and control of various diseases, including communicable diseases, non-communicable diseases, and outbreaks.

The primary objective of the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme is to detect, track, and respond to disease outbreaks in a timely and effective manner. It involves the collection, analysis, and dissemination of health-related data and information from various healthcare facilities and laboratories. The program helps in early detection of disease trends and provides the government with the necessary data to formulate and implement health policies and strategies.

Under IDSP, there are surveillance units at the district, state, and national levels, working in coordination to provide a comprehensive disease surveillance system. This program has played a crucial role in monitoring the incidence of diseases like COVID-19, malaria, dengue, tuberculosis, and other health concerns.

As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, “Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme” is the primary and widely recognized full form for IDSP. However, please note that there could be other organizations or initiatives with similar acronyms that may have emerged or evolved since that time. Always consider the specific context to determine the correct interpretation of acronyms.
