D.El.Ed stands for Diploma in Elementary Education. It is a teacher training program for candidates who wish to become teachers for classes 1 to 8 in schools across India. The program is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of teaching, as well as the relevant pedagogical and psychological theories.
The D.El.Ed program is offered by various universities and colleges in India, and typically takes two years to complete. It is divided into four semesters, with each semester covering a specific set of subjects and topics. Some of the subjects covered in the program include:
Child Development and Pedagogy: This subject covers the theories of child development, as well as the various factors that influence a child’s cognitive, emotional, and social development.
Language and Literature: This subject covers the various aspects of language and literature, including phonetics, grammar, and literary criticism.
Social Studies and Environmental Studies: This subject covers the various aspects of social studies and environmental studies, including history, geography, and political science.
Mathematics and Science: This subject covers the various aspects of mathematics and science, including numbers, measurement, and scientific method.
Curriculum and Instruction: This subject covers the various aspects of curriculum and instruction, including lesson planning, assessment, and evaluation.

In addition to classwork, students in the D.El.Ed program are also required to complete a certain number of practical training hours in schools, as well as a final project or dissertation. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to take the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) to become a primary or upper primary teacher.
