The full form of CHSL is Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination. It is a competitive examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) in India to recruit candidates for various posts in the government sector. The exam is open to candidates who have completed their 10+2 education or have equivalent qualifications. The CHSL exam is conducted in three tiers: the first tier is a computer-based test, the second tier is a descriptive paper, and the third tier is a skill test.
The first tier computer-based test consists of objective-type multiple-choice questions from subjects such as general intelligence, English language, quantitative aptitude, and general awareness. The second tier is a descriptive paper in which candidates have to write an essay or a letter in English or Hindi.
