Mysore Serum Institute was the original location of the Veterinary College of Bangalore, which was opened on July 25, 1958, by the Honorable Karnataka's Chief Minister Shri.B.D.Jatti (IAH & VB).
The three pillars of teaching, research, and extension are the backbone of this institution. Its objective is to make veterinarian programs more flexible and adaptable to the changing demands of the modern world and the hopes of the livestock producers who inhabit it.
The goal of this endeavour is to train professionals who are up to the task of meeting the growing demands of society and the new frontiers of knowledge through research and extension.
