The SFR College for Women was created in 1968, in remembrance of the late benefactor Thiru N.R.K.Rajaratnam, whose leading zeal in commerce and industry, carved for himself an everlasting spot in the annals of Sivakasi.
They put up a scheme for the advent of higher ed and intellectual improvement of rural women all across Sivakasi by starting ”The Charities Trust". It was their ambition to free the rural females from their societal, economic and cultural restraints by cognitively educating them to meet the problems of daily life.
Under the headship of the acclaimed Chairperson, Thrumathi Thilagavathy Ravindran, current Management Committee continues to freely fund, oversee and encourage every stride forward, begun by this famous institution.
