IIT Indore or Indian Institute of Technology Indore is a college of national importance which was started in 2009 by the Indian government. It is an autonomous organization that functions with the technology act institute. In the beginning, it started functioning on a temporary campus at Devi Ahilyabai University of engineering and technology under the guidance of IIT Bombay. In the year 2016, this institute moved to its permanent premises which sprawl across 501 acres, located in Simrol of Indore. The ranking of this institute has improved widely in its engineering and stands on the top 13th position in 2019 and 2020, it stands on the 10th position as per the rankings of NIRF.

The admissions to this college for courses like Ph.D., MS, M.Tech, B.Tech are comprehensive and time-consuming. The admissions to this institute are done through entrance exams, afterwards, counseling sessions and interviews are organized and one has to qualify for the written test as well.
